We consider art to represent an investment in the motivation and creativity of our employees and a key factor in our corporate culture. Cooperation with artists activates communication processes and contributes towards the creation of an open and relaxed working atmosphere. The works of Cornelius Richter, Alexander Costa and Ivan Kafka at the wb compagnie site provide stimulation in many ways. It is the search for the new that provides a common connection between artists and business enterprises.
Each work tells a story, establishing contact with its beholder. We should like to briefly present some examples to you below:
“Vogelgesang” (Birdsong) by Cornelius Richter 200 x 160 cm, oil on canvas, painted 1986, dated and signed bottom left
This panel by Cornelius Richter was exhibited at the “Grosse Deutsche Kunstausstellung” (Great German Art Exhibition) from 27 June to 14 September 1986 at the “Münchner Haus der Kunst” in Munich. This large composition was exhibited in the rooms of the “Neue Münchner Künstlergenossenschaft” (New Association of Munich Artists) and was registered in the list of the Bavarian national collection of paintings. The exhibit dates from a period when the artist was involved with the Gruppe Spur (Herzogstrasse artistic collaboration) in Munich. This painting was also featured in a television report previewing the “Grosse Deutsche Kunstausstellung”.
The outdoor fountain This was erected, “stone by stone”, by employees, partners and friends and represents the development of the company. Alexander Costa used a range of materials here: steel, the load-bearing element, born of fire; wood, being a sustainable material, symbolising the creativity and the levitation of thoughts over the water and in the air. Worked into the wood are the initials of wb compagnie, abstracted nature and people and imaginary “angel symbols”. These represent the spirit, the transcendental.
The Line of Freedom Ivan Kafka, who absolutely adores stripes, has installed these windsocks in six European cities in the colours characteristic for the country. The different pendants represent the free, neighbouring populations of the Czech Republic (orange and white) and Germany (red and white), who are coming together and growing together in a united Europe. The Line of Freedom offers space for contact and meditation in the great outdoors. Modern art which in the literal sense of the word is accessible across barriers.
